CCM FAQ: How is CCM Different?

CCM is vendor neutral, as we are completely independent from any of the businesses we audit.

The client is the sole decision maker in the process of negotiating and selecting vendors.  CCM communicates with the client throughout the process to ensure satisfaction.

Our approach to vendor negotiations is tailored to the unique needs of each client, ensuring that final contracts meet both the expectations of their management, as well as the needs of their employees.

CCM’s post-contract monthly auditing provides clients with indispensible insight into the ongoing performance of their contracts, empowering them with an additional internal control mechanism.

Contract Benchmarking

CCM evaluates current vendor contracts and performs a comprehensive onsite analysis.  We will benchmark your current offsite storage vendors’ costs against other peer vendors in your industry and geographical area.  If your current offsite storage agreements are already competitive and are aligned with your overall risk management, cost containment and records retention goals, we will explain our findings to you in detail.  Our analysis involves developing an understanding of client needs and the steps involved in creating and managing client-matter information.  We then review each process from a risk, efficiency and cost perspective.  The review will include current file management policies, new matter intake and workflow, existing technology platforms, retention policies, procedures and schedules.

Contract Optimization, Negotiation & Sourcing

We also provide advice regarding policy development for dealing with records associated with lateral moves (regardless of whether the attorney is moving into or away from your firm).  CCM’s expertise allows us to identify contract inefficiencies and to recommend the most beneficial contractual clauses, thereby protecting clients from future industry changes or changes in a client’s own purchasing patterns.
